Ericka snaps her fingers for Brian's attention, and it's a good thing, because otherwise they would have walked right past the Praga. They run across the street and get their clue, then grab a cab. Ericka is worried about the damage their bus-to-subway strategy might have done them. "We'll be fine, we always come back," Brian assures her. What's it going to take to crack this guy's positive attitude?
Sam and Dan are in the rapids now, which in their case just means arguing more rapidly. The little boat flips over, and the camera mounted on the bow lets us know exactly what it looks like to be dunked in the canal. The brothers are swept along down the current ahead of their overturned boat, then haul themselves out to go back to the beginning.
The Slow but Steady teams are finding this less steady than expected, as Meghan interviews that at some point, you're pulling yourself uphill on the rope. Seems like that point would be the midpoint, which they have reached. "It's harder than it looks," Big Easy says, because for someone as big as he is, pulling yourself up a rope is not easy. In fact, his weight is pulling his rope so far down that the soles of his hiking boots are getting wet.
Sam and Dan are back in the kayak, having switched spots so Sam is in back. Because that's going to make all the difference. And although Big Easy is making slow progress, Flight Time passes Meghan and Cheyne on the rope. Below them, Dan is yelling at Sam to guide them. Sam just shushes him, because he's very busy not paddling. Soon they're in the drink again, which at least puts a stop to their yelling for the period of time they're underwater. In fact, shouldn't they be fitted with scuba mouthpieces, just in case? For safety's sake? Like, at all times?
Brian is hoping for another team to be having problems up ahead. Ah, yes, the song of the doomed, desperate team. It's an oldie, but Brian has a lovely voice and really makes it his own.
Flight Time reaches the platform first, with Big Easy still pulling hard but moving slowly. Meghan says it was nice to see him having trouble for once. She and Cheyne join Flight Time at almost the same time. Flight Time seems prepared to wait for his partner, but the guide asks him to go down first. Meghan and Cheyne ask if they can go ahead, but they can't. "Big Easy's gonna be a while. Y'all good," Flight Time assures them by way of saying no. Flight Time starts climbing down, but not quickly enough for Cheyne, who accuses him of going slowly on purpose. Flight Time takes strong exception to this. "I haven't raced like that the whole game. Don't even go there." But having been given the idea, he goes with it. Yes, don't go there, because he just might follow.
