7:17 AM. Ron and Christina. She interviews that they're "working on how [they] can communicate better." One would hope. She tells us that she tells her dad she loves him all the time, even though she knows that sometimes, he's "uncomfortable." Yikes. So Ron has to put up with a hernia and a daughter who loves him and tells him so? How is he surviving this experience? She tells him in the car that she loves him, and he responds by saying that Lithuanians make great pastries. Like, "A Lithuanian can produce a good pastry," not "A Lithuanian can be made into a good pastry."
7:18 AM. Nick and Don. Favorite team! Don talks in an interview about how they'll be able to tell all their race stories to the family. Nick: "My grandfather can't remember where he put two hats in two days, let alone remember what we've done on the race." Ha! Don cackles. And wonders where in the hell he did leave those hats.
7:22 AM. Kynt and Vyxsin. They take off. Nick and Don are still trying to get a cab, and they see Kynt and Vyxsin get one right in front of them. In the cab, Kynt says, "I've always wanted to go to Romania, or Transylvania, or somewhere with a lot of spooky architecture." "Spooky"? As the EEFPs pointed out, he couldn't have said "Gothic"? Couldn't have said it, just this one time? Kynt interviews that he doesn't try to control Vyxsin, but just "guide her." Crickets chirped in my living room at this point, as we were like, "Umm...really?" It never would have occurred to me to wonder whether Kynt tries to control Vyxsin, since he looks like the toy-sized Polly Pocket to her giant life-size Powerpuff Girl. And then, at long last, Nick and Don get a cab.
Ouagadougou Airport. Ron and Chris appear, and they wind up in the same building where Azaria and Hendekea and Nate and Jen are already hanging out. Hendekea, at the moment, is on the phone. And then, here are Kynt and Vyxsin. Nick and Don, however, have pulled up at an internet café, or, as Don calls it, "the internet buffet." Hee. I think my sanity could have done with fewer trips to the internet buffet in the last few years, that's for sure. It's that last scoop of mac and cheese that gets you.
Hendekea and Christina are apparently working together on the phone (that's an old alliance still chugging, I guess), and Hendekea is inquiring with Air France about their first flight to Vilnius. She gets information about a route connecting in Paris that will leave for Paris at 10:45 this evening. She also learns that there are plenty of seats on that flight, so very likely, everybody will be on that same flight out.
