Once their solar kitchen is set up, they'll need to place a tea kettle full of water on the... burner, I guess. When the kettle whistles, they get their next clue. For "Light My Fire," they go to the river bank, gather firewood and clay, and then transport it on a donkey to a pottery workshop a mile away. And that's all they have to do to get their next clue. That second one seems a lot simpler, but less fun. Bopper and Mark, the first team to get a clue, opt for boiling water. So do Nary and Jamie. Over in the scrum around the chasqui, Brendon snatches a clue that's already been handed to Art. After the fact, JJ claims they did that to everyone, which wouldn't make sense because they'd only need to do it once, but that doesn't mean Brendon isn't still a dick. He and Rachel are going with "Boil My Water," as are Kerri and Stacy and Other Rachel and Major Dave. The Border Patrol agents are going with Light My Fire. On the way to the Detour, Other Rachel comments, "Looks like it's a beautiful day for solar energy." Meaning it's sunny. But Art & JJ think that's a ridiculous task this early in the morning, before the sun is fully up. Although they might be underestimating the amount of time it could take to put those things together. For all they know, they won't be ready until high noon. Other Rachel and Major Dave are the first team to find one of the "villages, "which just happens to be clustered around that same pottery shop that's the final destination for the Light My Fire option. The crates containing the solar ovens are stacked on the back of a pickup truck, near a llama tied to a stump. It's rural Argentina, after all. As Other Rachel and Major Dave unload a crate, they're joined by Nary and Jamie and Ralph and Vanessa. While they're all looking for good spots to set up, the clowns show up next. The only instructions available are four pictograms on the outside of the box, and as the clowns have noticed, there's no completed sample for them to look at. But the clowns have failed to notice something else fairly vital, as we'll see. Art and JJ drive by, but proceed on their way while the other four teams get started on their kits.
