In the conference room, Charles doesn't think Shawn was "really invested" in being Martha's apprentice. Martha agrees and chuckles, "I think she has hopes of being a television personality of some sort. I think she's young, inexperienced, or doesn't even get what being a newscaster means." Martha writes her letter: "Dear Shawn, your lipstick, shirt collars, and blabbermouth are not good things. Goodbye. Sincerely, Martha Stewart." Or something like that.

A little post-firing news: Shawn, like all the other oustees, was on the Today Show the morning after this episode. It took them awhile to get to her but when they finally did, it was when Katie asked Al Roker about the weather! There, with Weather Boy Al Roker, was Weather Girl Shawn. Now, I know she's constantly said that she was a news anchor and even tells Al Roker that she was a morning anchor, but I found it utterly hysterical that after tauntingly calling her "Weather Girl" these past episodes, she's there! With Al Roker! Who is about to do the weather! Also? Al was all, "I've never heard 'fake it 'til you make it,'" which is also what some MSNBC anchor apparently said to her. The less said about her appearance on Martha, the better. Let's just me just say, it's a really, really, REALLY good thing that this particular famewhore is off the show.
