Somewhere on the streets of New York, Hateful Jim calls Bethenny, who finally, it would appear, tells them what's going on. Bizarrely, even though we get shots of both cars in transit, when the phone conversation takes place, both cars are stationary and also still in that alley behind MSLO's offices. So, basically, Bethenny's in one car, parked, and the team is in another car, parked, and they are talking on the phone. Parked. At some point, Carrie bitches, "I need the chauffeured limousine -- come on now!" Hateful Jim says they can't be spoiled brats and they've got to win it for Bethenny. Ryan examines his nails. "I know -- Bethenny's your girl," Carrie says, and Hateful Jim emphatically agrees, adding that they have to win it for all the "bad kids" out there. Ryan crosses his legs. Hateful Jim confessionals that while him being chosen for Bethenny's team was a given, the other two choices made no sense to him, "until I realized that Bethenny has no friends." What is that saying about "out of the mouths of idiots"? As Hateful Jim tells Carrie what her role in the task will be, I am mesmerized by the full side of dinners Carrie's revealing -- it's like a smorgasbord in that shirt! Carrie bitches some more about what Bethenny did to her in the conference room. The Circus team meets with the Big Apple Circus people, and Bethenny summarizes for us: "I have to deal with of all the acrobats, and lighting, and sound, and rigging, and staging, and a VIP party. And I have to manage all commitments to all of the sponsors: Apple and Eve juices, Pringles, plus do a program and five hundred other moving parts." So, basically, you have to organize an event. Bethenny haphazardly hands out assignments to her team while telling them nebulously, "Everyone has to do everything on this -- it's insane."
The Fashion Show team meets at Liz Claiborne, where Dawna is prominently shown calmly asking specific things of her people while making sure it's okay with all of them. They go to check out the venue.
The Circus venue is Crobar, "which is like a mega Manhattan nightclub," Bethenny tells us. She and Ryan are there to not do very much. They look at the space with Crobar's events coordinator and get an idea of how many people they can stuff in. Ryan confessionals that Bethenny isn't really good at making decisions, but amends that she went farther in the show than he did, so maybe she's got something he doesn't.
