Bethenny's circus. More preparation. Oh! Look what has arrived! It's Bethenny's very professionally done and beautifully glossed programs! This means she's going to win, right?! Because they are showing us only Bethenny's successes and Dawna's failures! God, do they think we're that stupid? Bethenny "opens the house" to the waiting public. Kids and parents mill around, eating things and getting sticky. Performers perform. Martha and her entourage of two arrive. Bethenny makes a point of meeting Martha at the entrance and escorting her through the circus. Bethenny points out the silent auction area, and Martha has gotten it in her head that Alexis wants to go to the trapeze school. I'm sure Alexis thinks that if she only climbs high enough, she can finally get out of reach of her mother's cold and clutching hands. The silent auction goes well, and Bethenny brags in a confessional that everyone was so worried about how much time she was spending on the silent auction, yet look how great it turned out.
Back to the applauding studio for another bathroom break. Oh, how much do I love Chuck for ostentatiously NOT applauding? After Martha being such a bitch about his no-show on Martha and calling him "delicate," his lack of cheer is the second most awesome part of this whole boring fin-ah-lee. Dawna's fashion show. Dawna gives Howie directives and he says, "No problem, babe, we're gonna win!" Aw, I do love Howie a bit. Howie runs around and does stuff and even finds time to greet and ogle a few models. Sarah arrives with the programs, bellowing, "Holy cannoli!" and then shows the programs to Howie. "Here they are. They look like crap. We didn't have a choice. They're terrible but they're better than nothin'!" Sarah enthuses. When Creative Bitch sees the coverless, two-page, Liz Clay-BORNE-logo-free, crap program, she bitches about it: "Even the first line is not centered. I would have expected this really to be perfect, so I have to tell you I'm disappointed." You don't like something? Color me shocked.
Bethenny's circus. In some private shed above the festivities, Martha, Charles, and Alexis wait. Wow. How unfortunate does Alexis look in that unflattering overhead shot? She's all bare shoulders and upper arms. It's almost as if she's expected to be the Strongman in the circus! Poor, strong Alexis. But at least her ankles are properly crossed. The circus starts. It's impressive. Martha's impressed. Hateful Jim claps so loudly, the sticky child next to him covers his ears and grabs at Hateful's hands to make him stop. I kid you not. Ryan is enthusiastic about the whole event and really thinks Bethenny pulled off a miracle. The circus ends, and Charles shakes Bethenny's hand, telling her she did a good job.
