Fight to the Finish

After commercial, Bret thinks something's weird that they have been too easy on him and are never easy on him. He just hasn't put his finger on it yet. Back in the boardroom, Richard says he'd fire Bret for taking off in the middle of the task. Don says he was going to say Holly until Cyndi said Holly chose the color red, inspiring the best room. So now he thinks Cyndi. Trump thinks that's very interesting, and calls them back in. Trump asks Holly first who to fire, and she of course says Cyndi. Cyndi says Holly. But Holly goes on again about how Cyndi's been rude to people, and Trump basically gets Bret to admit it was more toughness than rude. Holly says she needs more honey in her than vinegar and there is an awesome shot of Cyndi looking down the table at Holly with a death glare. Trump reminds Holly that Cyndi did the best room, and Holly says it was her idea. Cyndi says, "Bullshit. You said 'red.' " Don tells Cyndi she told them the red was her idea. Cyndi says that she took the red and then said she'd had it up to here with conservative so went, "Let's have some fun, with patent leather, and whatnot." Holly says, "Yes, and I was right there with you." Cyndi asks if she's taking credit for her work, and Holly says she's taking credit for everything as project manager. Trump asks Cyndi if she should be fired, and she says no. They go back and forth, "YOU should be fired" over Bret.

Trump interrupts and tells Holly that whether she likes Cyndi or not, and she obviously doesn't... Holly interrupts and says she does like her but she's hard to work with. Trump says yeah, because she's creative, and all geniuses... Don interrupts that Trump's not easy to work for either. Trump says the most brilliant actors and actresses are the most difficult. Holly agrees, but says it was impossible with Cyndi being rude to people and Bret saw it too but is being all cool now. He says he's just listening, and then Trump asks Holly if Bret can keep up with the two of them. She says he could yesterday, but not now, and Trump tells Bret he's sort of sitting there, and Richard asked why not fire Bret, and Trump can't argue with that. Bret says he's very passionate and keeps his temper down because when it blows, it's awful. Trump says he's not as passionate as the other two, but Bret says he is. He tries to say he ran the eighteen flights of stairs. Trump says his passion doesn't compare to these two, and that Cyndi won in terms of the room, and Bret did nice photographs, but "photographs are photographs." Bret says he was time-managing, painting, taking photos out the window, running the stairs, and doesn't know what more he could have fit into the time period on two hours of sleep in forty-eight hours.
