Amanda is next, and we are reminded that she and Neill had to leave their two-year-old son. She started at 204, and now weighs 140. That's a loss of 64 pounds, or 31.37%. Well done! Now put all that extra energy toward getting a divorce. Then there's Neill, who had a bit of an attitude deficiency while on campus. He felt like he had a lot to prove at home, and was determined to blow everyone away at the finale. And here we are! Do you feel blown? A little wind tussled, at least? Neill started at 317 pounds, and has dropped to 229. That's a loss of 88 pounds, or 27.76%. Aw, good for him! I guess they can stay married. But even better that Curtis is still in the lead for the $100,000 prize.
Then we have Bette-Sue, perennial fan favorite. She did a lot of screaming on the show, and a lot of laughing, and a lot of bonding with her daughter, Ali. Bette-Sue started at 261 pounds, and now weighs 186, for a loss of 75 pounds! She's thrilled, and does a little pose n' twirl for our benefit. That's 28.74% lost, which is quite a feat, especially for a woman of a certain age. Then there's Jenn, who wanted to inspire the kids at the fat camp where she works as a counselor. I forgot how big she was at the beginning of the show. She seems pretty short, too. She started at 254 pounds, and now weighs 190 for a loss of 64. Yay! That's 25.20%. Then we have Maggie, who cracked my shit up during the season with her snide remarks about team pride. Maggie had never had a boyfriend, and wanted to be able to go out and have someone think she was hot. She's happy not to be "the fat girl" anymore. She started at 239 pounds, and now weighs in at 169, for a loss of 70 pounds! That's 29.29%, which means that Curtis is still standing strong.
Next to weigh in is Jackie, who has finally realized that she needs to put herself first, because if she's not healthy and fit, she has a lot less to give. I already knew that because I watch a lot of Oprah. Losing weight has made Jackie's teeth look enormous. She needs to lose more than 96 pounds to best Curtis. I think she could do it, to be honest with you. She looks pretty tight. Jackie started at 246 pounds, and has dropped to 157 -- that's a loss of 89 pounds! Not enough to take the lead for the at-home prize, but still really impressive. It's 36.18%. She's all, "That's right, bitches." Dan looks really proud. And speaking of Dan, he started off as a really, really big kid. You almost forget. He feels better now than ever, and thinks he can conquer the world and be a rock star. Or, like, a librarian. He'd make a great librarian. Dan has to lose more than 122 pounds to take the lead from Curtis. I think he's going to do it. Standing on the scale in his workout clothes, he looks like he's going to stealthily cobble some shoes in the middle of the night. Tiny! His faux-hawk is really slimming, too. Dan started at 310 and now weighs 174. That's a difference of 136! He is pumped. It's a 43.87% loss, and Curtis is knocked off of his podium. Bob gives Dan a big hug.
