Paul says that his experience on the show has been fantastic. He's always had strong feelings for Kelly, he says, before adding that she left him and he didn't leave her. Not bitter, no hows. Through this whole thing, however, he learned that he and Kelly make better friends than lovers. Why can't they be both to each other? But he's accomplished more than he ever thought he could. He lost 67 pounds and was taken off of his blood pressure pills. He's taking some of his life back, which is the biggest reward. Paul goes home, where his family has been forced to throw him yet another small party. His girlfriend, Julie, tells him that he needs to start fresh, so they're going to wake up and exercise tomorrow. Bobbi, Paul's mom, says that this has made a difference in whether she gets to keep her son, and says emotionally that she was really afraid she was going to lose him.
And then, yikes! Paul says that after he got kicked off of the show he came down with double pneumonia, and gained six pounds in the hospital. ["You kind of have to admire a guy who finds a way to gain weight on hospital food." -- Sars] However, his girlfriend Julie has been awesome and supportive. Julie reveals that they had only been dating six weeks prior to him going to be on the show. That's crazy! She says it was hard not knowing how he was going to come home, or who he was going to fall back in love with. Aw, Julie seems all right. Paul is living his life and having fun, which he hasn't done in years. To wit, he's wearing pastel striped shirts. What's more fun than that? Paul has recovered from his pneumonia and is back on track for the finale. Let's hope that he gets it together and loses some chunk before we see him next.
Next Tuesday: Vegas, baby! And the Blue Team is all crying and hugging each other and shit. Oh my God, did one of them hook up with Bret Michaels?
