Contestants Tackle One of the Biggest Challenges In Show's History

Weigh-ins! Jay reminds us that there are some one-pound passes at play. Everyone is nervous, because things are getting down to the wire. Roger knows he has a bullseye on his back, and that it's crucial for him to be the Biggest Loser of the Week. Sami welcomes the contestants and then attends to some business. Everyone except for Dan and Kelly won a one-pound pass. Well at least Dan won almost $10K. All Kelly got was a mouthful of Twinkie. In any case, that's three pounds for Black and two for Blue. And then, of course, there's Dan's immunity prize. However! Sami says that none of those things will change the game as much as the news that she's about to deliver. And that is, my friends, that Hillary Clinton took the delegate-rich state of Rhode Island. My people know that bitch is the new black. Our most famous mayor was in the clink twice. Do not fuck with the R.I.

Okay, no, there's something else that's actually pertinent to the game. The Blue Team and the Black Team no longer exist. That's right -- it's every former fatty for his/herself. Kelly is excited, thinking that this is her chance to stay in the game. Bob can't believe it. Jay tells us that the Blue Team is really happy about this turn of events. Sami explains that the two people with the lowest amount of weight loss will fall below the yellow line, and be up for elimination. The rest of the players will vote. There will also be no more Biggest Loser Player of the Week. Bernie was the last one, and this prompts Sami to ask who, if anyone, he wants to bestow immunity upon. He chooses Brittany. At this stage in the game, I think I would have chosen no one. However, Bernie has the team spirit. Brittany is clearly very relieved.

Brittany is first up on the scale. She goes from 179 to 174, for a loss of 5. That's a pretty good number. She's happy. She's lost a total of 47 pounds since she came to campus. Her percentage this week is 3.35%, and since she has immunity, she's taken off the board altogether. Her one pound pass for the temptation challenge doesn't matter, either. Kelly is next, and she's feeling nervous. She goes from 212 to -- oh, fuck, I don't know how much weight she loses because my freaking local news is so excited to apply their ineptitude to an actually important situation that they interrupt the show to talk about the primary returns with typically inane commentary. Grr. Sorry! When I finally get back to the show, it goes a little something like this: Roger has lost 3.73%, Maggie has lost 3.68%, Dan has lost 3.65%, Jay has lost 3.62%, and Kelly has fallen below the yellow line at 2.83%. Bernie is left to weigh in. Bernie, with his one pound pass, needs to have lost more than six pounds to best Jay. He goes from 201 to 195, for a loss of 6, or 3.48%. It is one pound less than he needs. He's devastated, but manages to celebrate getting under 200 pounds. He's proud, even though he may be going home. Jillian is devastated to have two of her team members below the yellow line. Sami then drops the bomb, as she is wont to do. If Bernie had not given his immunity to Brittany, she would have been below the yellow line with Kelly. He totally sacrificed himself! Brittany starts crying, but Bernie says he wouldn't have changed his decision for the world. That's nice, and a lie.
