And then it's time for surprise trainer visits! This episode is endless. We're not even through the first hour yet. Recapping this show has actually broken my butt. Seriously, my butt is killing me from having to sit through it and type for months on end. Carpal tunnel syndrome and a broken butt. Are you happy, Jillian? Bob visits Rudy, and greets him with a big bear hug. Jillian has to find Liz in the middle of a field and seems a bit unnerved by all the nature around her. Bob surprises Amanda on her morning run, and she's thrilled to see him. Jillian greets Danny with a hug and a "Hi, skinny!"
Jillian instantly starts grilling Liz, asking how the hell she works out in the middle of bumfudge. Liz says she drives to town and goes to the gym every day. Town must be really far away. Jillian is skeptical that Liz is taking road trips to the gym every day, but she's proud of her. She asks Liz where her husband is, and Liz says that he's home on the weekends. Hmmm. In an interview Jillian says, "Her husband's not here, family's not here right now. And I can't help but think that it's gotta be a little bit lonely out here. She seems...isolated, you know?" She does. Bob asks Amanda what it's really like being at home. Amanda is physically and mentally exhausted at the prospect of working four to six hours a day, and also grabs handfuls of cereal. Oooh, the strain and the struggle. I mean, not to minimize what she's going through, but it does seem like the others have a lot more to deal with in their home situations.
