Now that we're done with the fun, we go back to O'Neal. He tells us that he's had a terrible week. Not only did he fall and hurt his knee, but he received a phone call telling him that his brother Arthur passed. Arthur is O'Neal's oldest brother, and had cancer. O'Neal didn't get to say goodbye to him, which is clearly very upsetting. However, he knows that Arthur is in a better place. O'Neal looks into the camera and says, "I really wish I could have been with you." It's pretty heartbreaking. Bob tries to comfort O'Neal, who is very upset. Bob says that O'Neal is a strong man, and can handle anything, as hard as it is. He adds that he's there for the right reasons, and his time is not yet done. Right now, they're going to do everything they can to keep O'Neal in the house. Jillian and O'Neal box, which is a good way to beat and sweat out some of the pain.
The other contestants work out, too. They're all doing things they never could have done before. Michael says that he has a newfound confidence in the gym. Daris and Ashley work as hard as ever. Koli and Sam had planned to let Sam fall below the yellow line, but their strategy changed given the O'Neal situation. If Sam falls below the yellow line with O'Neal, things will really suck. O'Neal, meanwhile, takes his emotions out on a medicine ball, and then totally freaks out on some sort of recumbent bike. Jillian has to get out of the way so she doesn't get hit with a handle or with O'Neal's hand. He starts to cry, and of course the camera gets right up in his face. Jillian holds him and kind of scratches his head to comfort him, and then O'Neal apologizes and starts to hyperventilate. He says he needs to walk, and the two of them head outside. As O'Neal leans on Jillian, she says that she bets his brother can hear him right now. O'Neal is in such acute pain as he says that he misses his brother that it's almost unbearable to watch. Even Jillian cries. I do too, which I can assure you is not good for my current sinus situation. Ugh.
Finally, it's the weigh-in. I don't think I've ever been so glad to see that scale. Sami reminds everyone that Koli has the only vote tonight, as long as he stays above the yellow line. He's first to weigh in. Koli goes from 270 to 260, for a loss of 10 pounds! Wow! I guess donuts are a good dieting strategy after all. Throw in another chili dog! Koli has lost 143 pounds in 14 weeks, which is pretty incredible. This week he lost 3.7%, which is surely enough to keep him safe.
