Determining who is the teacher and who is the student is very important, and this of course is where the temptation challenge comes in. Ah, if only season eight's Tracy were here to summon her demonic friends and relations to secure a victory accompanied by sinister winds! To win the temptation challenge, the contestants must simply eat more chocolate-covered candies than anyone else. Yes, those troughs are filled with generic M&Ms. In each round, each contestant only has to eat one candy. That's only five calories. If you don't eat, you're out. And so on and so forth until only one bloated sad sack remains. That player will decide who will be the teacher and who will be the student for each team. Only one person per team will play.
John and Stephanie quickly agree that neither of them is going to eat anything. Lance isn't going to eat the M&Ms, either, and Melissa says she doesn't want the responsibility of being the one who decides. Andrea is of the same mind. As, apparently are most of the contestants. When the first round begins, Pink Team Sherry and 526 pound Michael are the only ones who eat an M&M. Michael doesn't put up much of a fight, though. He foregoes the M&M in the second round, which means that the Pink Team wins and gets to decide who is the student and who is the teacher on each team. I think Michael just wanted an M&M, frankly.
Sherry and Ashley walk off to caucus, and lament the fact that everyone is going to hate them now. They didn't think of that part, nor the part where they don't want to be in charge of other people's fates, when they hatched their temptation plan. They try to make fair decisions, or so they claim. For the Black Team, Andrea is the teacher and Darrell is the student. On the hybrid single-player team, Stephanie is the teacher and John is the student. For the Gray Team, Sam is the teacher and Koli is the student. For Red, Melissa is the teacher and Lance is the student. For the Orange Team, Cheryl is the teacher and Daris is the student. For Green, Migdalia is the teacher and Miggy is the student. Miggy is pissed, and tells us that this is going to be a peak week for Migdalia so it sucks that she won't be weighing in. For the White Team, Michael is the teacher and Maria is the student. And for the Pink Team themselves, Sherry is the teacher and Ashley is the student.
Bob and Jillian walk up and see the teachers only waiting to meet them. Jillian, as usual, looks homicidal when she learns what has happened. Though when the trainers learn that Sherry only had to eat two M&Ms to gain power, Bob says that they can't exactly be mad at her. Jillian notes that Migdalia's pissed. She denies it, but Jillian knows pissed when she sees it on account of how often she looks in the mirror. Bob himself gets pissed when Migdalia refuses to admit that she's pissed. I sense either a Dr. Phillian or Yoga Bob intervention coming soon. The trainers have a little caucus about it, and predict that Migdalia is going to alienate herself and make enemies if she doesn't get an attitude adjustment.
