Curtis heads off to prep for dessert as the ladies eat and talk about their various experiences so far. Deni says that the new trainers are awesome, and really sweet. She's trying to make Marci a little jealous, and also does like the new trainers a lot. I don't think Marci's falling for it. Curtis then grabs the ladies to make a poached pear dessert with Greek yogurt. Deni and Marci are overwhelmed with all of the ingredients and calorie calculations, coupled with Curtis's hotness. After eating dessert, the two women have to guess the calorie count. Marcie guesses 480, while Deni goes for 440. The actual count was 572. This means that Marci wins! She gets a two-pound advantage and bragging rights.
Before we know it, it's time for another challenge. The Known contestants meet up with Sami, who is standing near a bunch of basins. She explains that today the contestants will pump water into a Q-Drum, which is a device designed to carry water in remote parts of the world. Each contestant will roll it around the bend, and dump water into someone else's barrel. As soon as a contestant's barrel is full, he or she is out of the game. The last team standing wins. Jennifer is not excited about this new, divisive way of laying the game. Sami tells the contestants that, when filled, each Q-Drum weighs over 100 pounds and they'll have to take it a quarter of a mile to the barrels. However, their hard work will be worth it, since the winning team gets the only vote at this week's elimination. Irene has no teammate, and so will be competing by herself.
The challenge begins. There is pumping of water, which is more difficult and Little House on the Prairie-esque than expected. The contestants fill their Q Drums and start off up the hill. Irene starts out running, then decides that running is stupid. Until, that is, Courtney starts running! She is so hard core. She says that everyone decided to take out Arthur and Jesse first, in part to prevent Arthur from struggling up the hill multiple times. Arthur seems okay with that, since winning the challenge might result in a target on your back. The Aqua and Purple teams are in cahoots, and take out the Black Team. Everyone is apparently working together to ensure that Irene wins the challenge. I don't totally understand the reasoning here, other than Irene is apparently trustworthy and will listen to the wishes of everyone else. This could go horribly awry. Irene does indeed win, and says she's ready for the responsibility of sole elimination power.
