The Blue Team meets to decide which Black Team member they want to put on the scale this week. Elizabeth emerges as a natural choice, since she's consistently been on the bottom. However, they wonder if she might be due for a big number. Brendan thinks that Jessica is a weak link for the Blue Team, but some other folks think that the Blue Team will know that she'll be on the block. Patrick doesn't seem to care, and says that it's an old-fashioned shoot-out between Jessica and Elizabeth.
With that, it's time for the week's challenge, which takes place on the beach. Boats are involved! Sami says that the team who wins today's challenge has the option to block the other team's pick at the weigh-in. Lisa tells us that the Blue Team is screwed if they lose this weigh-in, since the Black Team has a shallow pool of non-performers. It's Liz or bust. The teams will compete in a dragon boat race, which is considered the ultimate team sport. Sami says that it's not just about strength -- you have to be in sync as a team. The race is 1,000 meters -- 500 meters to a buoy, and 500 meters back. The Blue Team of course has a ten second advantage. Each team has to pick one member to steer, while everyone else paddles. Jessica steers for the Blue Team, while Anna steers for Black.
The competition begins! The Blue Team is out of the gate first, and makes absolutely no progress. Apparently moving a dragon boat is pretty hard. Finally, some time after the Black Team starts, they figure it out. However, Jessica is having some problems steering and the boat veers to the left. The Black Team moves along pretty well for a while, though the Blue Team remains a boat's length ahead. And then the Black Team has some steering problems, veering hard to the left. As the Blue Team approaches the buoy, Jessica tries to turn the boat. She fails, and the boat goes pretty wide. Anna, however, rocks the turn, and the race gets tight. However, ultimately the Blue Team pulls it out! Hooray! Brendan is pissed because the Blue Team members celebrate their victory. How dare they be enthusiastic humans! Much better to make shady bedroom deals with other glowering doofi. [Doofi = doofus plural.]
Jillian meets up with the Black Team and learns of their loss. Elizabeth says that they were in sync, which prompts Jillian to tell us that she's not comfortable with the fact that Anna's fate is in Elizabeth's hands. She tells Elizabeth that she's been so comfortable in this scenario that she's not pushing. Liz says she is, and Jillian says that she's not. Furthermore, the Blue Team is probably going to pick Liz, and Liz is probably not going home tomorrow. Liz reminds us that she's buddy-buddy with Frado and Brendan, and they don't want to see her booted. Liz tells us that if she loses the weigh-in for her team, it's not fair for someone else to go home. We'll see what happens when the pushing and the shoving comes along.
