Oh, wait! The Black Team can actually vote ANYONE from the Black Team off, except for Mark. That makes things a little more interesting. Each contestant gets to make a plea to the Black Team, and there are many tears shed. Stupid Lisa says that she's more ready to go home than Adam is, so if they're thinking of eliminating him they should send her home instead. Frado tells her that of all the people there, Lisa is least ready to go home. Seriously, there was no need for that.
The Black Team confers, and Patrick tells us that they debated about whether to send home the biggest threat or to be decent and send home the person who lost the least weight. I'm sure it will surprise you to learn that the Black Team does not err on the side of decency. They vote off Adam. Brendan says that he and Frado did not make this choice for the team -- everyone agreed. He also interviews that the Blue Team messed up by giving power to the Black Team -- they should have bonded together and made a decision, because the Black Team was clearly going to act in their own interest. Frado reminds us that Adam's three-pound advantage is not going to do him much good at home. Dead horse burgers are his favorite meal.
Adam gives a nice, brief parting speech and says he can't wait to see everyone at the finale. Hugs, tears, sadness. When Adam started on the ranch he weighed 402 pounds, and is leaving at 322 pounds. He's learned over the past several weeks that getting fit is possible for him. His eyes were opened when he lost his mother, and he realized that he needed help. He's made not only physical changes on the ranch, but emotional ones -- he believes in himself and is proud of who he is. When we next see Adam, he'll be a leader in his community, and will be the person that his mother always believed he could be. He'll be making a difference, and showing others that this is a battle we can win.
We check in with Adam at home, weighing a lean 264 pounds! Wow! He looks really great, despite some ill-advised facial hair. Adam's brother is on the football team at Benedictine College, and so Adam traveled to Atchison, Kansas where a lot of people are fat. He teamed up with the local YMCA to be an inspiration to the community. He's maybe getting a little bit of a messiah complex, but I guess it works for him. Adam works out with his adorable brother, and is happy to finally be able to keep up with him. Adam is paying it forward, and hopes to return to school to pursue a degree in social work. Of course! He's such a SNAG. [Note: The line "Who like to dress like Richard Simmons?" is particularly appropriate here.] He plans to weigh 220 pounds by the finale.
