At one hour and forty minutes, the rest of the contestants are all still alive. Running out of options and patience, Sami says, "It's cooooold. And getting colder by the minute." Her tactics work and the Brown Team is out. Dane's (or Blaine's?) thumb is quite possibly frozen. He and Blaine (or Dane?) are next to go. This means that only ladies remain. At two hours, Sami tells the remaining contestants that they must keep both hands on the bar. This throws the Pink Team, and they're out. And then, Jesus, the rest of them are still going at three hours! Could they not have given these bitches some gloves at least? The Yellow Team is eliminated, leaving the Purple Team and the Green Team to go head to head. Kristin is determined to beat Tara this time. Tara interviews that Kristin has a lot of heart and determination, just like Tara herself, and it makes her both love and hate her. Right now I hate both of them and so does everyone else who has to sit there for hours in the cold watching people hold up a big bar.
It's midnight, and they've been going for four hours, and it's 38 degrees out. From the perspective of a New Englander, let me tell you that that sounds positively balmy. Sami is jumping around in her fur to try to keep warm. She says, in an absolutely disgusted manner, "Four hours... and thirty-five minutes. Immunity is at stake." You know she's like, "I have a JOB to go to tomorrow, bitches. I must squint in an evil fashion! Let me go to sleep!" Tara tries to cut a deal with the Purple Team, saying that if they throw the competition the Green Team promises not to vote them out if they fall below the yellow line. Kristin is all, "Bitch, please." Laura is totally faltering and wants to give up, and Tara doesn't want to let her, but Laura does anyway. With that, the Purple Team has won immunity! They are quite happy. Laura feels like a tool for letting Tara down. Kristin says that she and her mom may have been picked last at the beginning of the season, but they're at the ranch to stay. Yay, them!
Meanwhile, it's time for Mandi's conjugal visit! Her husband, Rusty, sits on her bed and skulks. When she enters and sees him, however, they have a giant hug and both tear up. Being away from Mandi has made Rusty appreciate her more. She tells him that she's lost 45 pounds, and he seems happy for her. Mandi is sad that she isn't able to see her kids, too. But surprise! Her kids ARE THERE! This is just like a very special episode of Oprah! Her kids are oddly calm, probably because they're camera shy. All in all it's a cute scene.
