When Jesse arrived at the ranch, he weighed 293 pounds. He's leaving at 241 pounds. He feels good about how he's evolved, and says that his diabetes is under control for the first time. He has a lot more weight to lose, and wants to be healthy. When it's all said and done, Jesse started this journey with Arthur and is proud to see how he's coming along. This is a wonderful start to the new journey for the rest of his life, and he appreciates it. The next time we see Jesse, he'll be one lean, mean, fighting machine. We check in with Jesse at home and learn that he now weighs 227 pounds. He's committed to exercising for the rest of his life, and the only hard part now is getting in the amount of exercise that he's gotten used to. He apparently started a program called "Walking with Jesse," to get people out together. It's about walking and talking and realizing that you're not in this battle alone. Ana, who was eliminated in the first season, came out for the inaugural walk. Jesse says this could be a good start for those who are struggling with obesity. At 61, he has a new lease on life and feels like he's just starting. Jesse wants to have a 32-inch waist by the finale.
We then check in with Deni at home. She started at 256 pounds, and today weighs 170 pounds. That's a loss of 86 pounds! How fabulous. Deni has struggled with the fact that she's passed on her unhealthy eating habits to her kids. Now, she's turned things around. Instead of giving her super cute grandkids cookies and ice cream, she makes them a healthy smoothie. Before Deni came on the show, she couldn't get up from the ground without help. Now she can keep up with her grandkids. Deni says that her family has been so supportive of her. She missed her daughter's wedding on the ranch, but now can watch the videos. Lauren, the daughter in question, says it was so hard not to have her mom there at the wedding, but it was worth it because she's so much healthier. Deni says that she got the golden ticket, and will be around a lot longer for her kids and grandkids. Deni is determined to lose over 100 pounds total by the finale in hopes of winning the at-home prize.
Next Tuesday: the contestants go home for two weeks! Will they succumb to temptation and eat birthday cake?
