Ada finally gets a turn to balance for twenty-five seconds. She hasn't balanced in many a round, and winds up hopping around like a crazy person. She can't sustain it, and falls in the water. Mark wins the one-pound advantage, and is pretty proud of himself. He beats his chest, then does a somersault into the pool. And then we get another commercial for The Sing-Off! Rock me with a beat box, Ben Folds!
When we return, Jillian takes the contestants to Subway. They have to construct a sandwich, and then all vote for whose is best. Lisa's turkey and veggie sandwich is both the healthiest and the tastiest. She wins a $500 Subway gift card. That's 100 $5 footlongs! Yeah, you heard me right.
Last chance workout! Bob decides to take on Elizabeth, while Jillian is pleasantly surprised that Mark won the challenge. There are beatings. Bob focuses solely on Elizabeth, while Jillian has Brendan and Frado work with giant accessories. There is a lot of talk about relying on oneself, and doing it on one's own, etc. Jillian challenges Ada to do a ten minute mile, and Ada does it in nine! Bob screams increasingly high levels as the contestants are on stairmasters, and everyone looks like they will die. When they're finished, Elizabeth wheezes dramatically. Will someone hand her a fucking inhaler already? Jesus.
With that, it's time for the weigh-in. Sami tells everyone that if they can just hang on and not get booted tonight, they'll make it to makeover week! There is much excitement all around. The men will weigh in first tonight. Mark and his one pound advantage kick it off. He starts at 317 pounds, and drops to 309, for a loss of 8 pounds. He'll take it. He has no choice! When taking his one pound advantage into account, Mark has lost 2.84%. Patrick and his crazy beard are up next. I hope the beard at least gets to attend makeover week. Patrick is 11 pounds away from being the second player this season to lose 100 pounds. That seems like a tall order. He goes from 311 to 301, for a loss of 10. So close! He's just happy to have the numbers. Brendan weighed 315 pounds when he first started dating his wife, so this is the lightest she or any of her family have seen him. Bob and Patrick both agree that Patrick's beard would highly benefit from makeover week. He's lost 3.22%.
