We then get clips from the first few weeks of the season. There were lots of people crying. If you want more detail, read the recaps! Sami asks Bob how he knows what the right moment is to move from being a drill sergeant to making an emotional connection and Phillianizing everyone until they break. Bob says it was why he was put on this earth. So, basically, if you're worried that Bob is going to leave the show ever, do not be concerned.
After a commercial, we check in with first female winner Ali Vincent. We already know she's doing awesome! This is no fun! We are reminded of how sad Ali was when she first came on the show. Then she was eliminated, and then worked her way back onto campus and won the whole thing. When she took home the $250,000, she looked like a really muscular skeleton. I think maybe she's put a few pounds back on, which is a good thing. Sami asks Ali what she's been doing, and Ali gets all girl power on everyone's ass about how she led the charge in being a female winner. She started off not being able to exercise for one minute, and is now running marathons and doing triathlons. She talks about how amazing it is to be part of the Biggest Loser family, and paying it forward, and blah blah blah. Sami asks her what it was like to be eliminated, and Ali says that since she got the boot in week four, she didn't really know what to do. But though she didn't know it at the time, she got enough in those four weeks to allow her to be empowered in her own life.
All this talk of emotional eliminations segues into the current season and how sad the Red Team was when they had to cut their first person. Sami asks Dolvett what it's like to watch the eliminations, and he says that he cares about each individual and wants to make sure they're all successful. He hopes they have enough to prevent them from just eating pork rinds on the couch until the finale. Bob says that people always ask why there's so much yelling and screaming in the gym. He tells them that he doesn't know how long he'll have the contestants, and so needs to make an impression quickly. Also, the producers like it.
