The adults then meet with Biggest Loser chef Devin Alexander, who is there to teach them about healthy comfort foods. She's making dishes that are under $20 and feed six people. She adds that 20 minutes in your kitchen can save you three hours on a treadmill. Devin really gets the contestants by letting them know that she lost 70 pounds herself, and has kept it off for what seems like longer than she's even been alive. The dish she's making is called a Southwest loaded sweet potato, which has salsa and turkey and fat free Greek yogurt instead of, like, bacon and sour cream. It has half the calories, and by all accounts is rather delicious. [Note: The demo would have been nice before everyone just went shopping for the entire week, Devin! -- Rachel.]
The Blue Team works out in the outdoor space and Alex goads Bob into yelling at her, for her own good. The whole team is looking rather lackluster, though, and Bob starts giving Gina grief for admitting that she wasn't committed this week. All of the game playing of the week, mostly in the form of David's whispering, is taking a toll on her, along with the pressure to pull out a big number. The pressure has gotten the better of her, and Bob tells her that she needs to learn how to handle pressure because it's everywhere.
And then it's challenge time! Sami asks how the food situation is going, and Gina gets all worked up about how much fish they have left. Jeff is frustrated by the fact that Gina didn't speak up at the grocery store and ask them to get more fish, but is playing the victim now. Plus, it sounds like they have plenty of fish and Gina is just being alarmist, surprise.
Planet Fitness is sponsoring this challenge, and will give every member of the winning team ten one-year memberships. Those can be given to friends, families, co-workers or friendly recappers. The winning team will also have the choice of a two-pound advantage on the scale, or a chance to call home. Everyone instantly starts crying, and they don't even know what torture awaits them in the challenge.
