In happy news, TC and Nathan are kicking ass in the last chance workout, and Jillian tells them that she's really fudging happy. They're seeing what they're capable of, and TC tells us that he feels something inside changing. Nikki, however, is crying and looking despondent. Her teammate Pam tells us that Nikki has lost her drive, and she's worried about what's going to happen in Nikki's one-on-one time with Jillian. And she should be, because Nikki's lackluster performance leads Jillian to tell her that she's not ready for this. When Nikki says that other people are working twice as hard as she is, Jillian asks why she came on the show. Nikki says that she wanted a change, and Jillian counters that she really doesn't. Nikki just cries and cries. She tells us that this experience is more emotional than anyone could imagine. Jillian asks her to make a choice about whether or not she wants to be there. Nikki gets up and walks out, telling us that this was a thousand million times harder than she ever thought it would be.
Jillian tells the rest of the team that Nikki is out, adding that you can't help someone who doesn't want to be helped. Pam starts crying, saying that she really enjoyed Nikki as a person and it's hard to see her go. Jillian reminds Pam that Nikki is, in fact, still alive and will continue to exist outside the gym. Bob thinks that Nikki will come back, but Jillian disagrees, saying that they've been doing this show since time began and can tell who's ready and who isn't. Nikki isn't ready to deal with her issues, and it might be more harmful than positive for her to confront things she's not ready to confront. So, Jillian is shedding no tears over Nikki. She asks the rest of the team if they are staying or going, and they're all in. We follow Nikki out as she says that in her heart she knows she can't do this on the ranch. Instead she's going to find a therapist when she gets home and lose weight with the support of her husband and family, and get her head and heart right. The other contestants are bummed about her defection, but I personally think that it's better than having her around crying all the time.
And then, weigh-in! Sami announces that tonight, there is a red line. The person with the lowest percentage of weight lost on the losing team will be automatically eliminated. No vote! No discussion! Plenty of panic! The White Team won the challenge so has the five pound advantage. They're also weighing-in first. TC is up first, and goes from 376 to 361 for a loss of 15 pounds. Jillian gives kudos to TC's turnaround in the gym. Pam is next, and goes from 237 to 227, for a loss of 10 pounds. Nathan goes from 359 to 339, for a loss of 20. He's pumped, and Jillian kind of cracks up at him. Finally there's Danni, who we haven't really met at all this episode. She goes from 258 to 239, for a loss of a whopping 19 pounds! I guess the reason we didn't see much of her was because she just shut up and worked out. The White Team lost 69 pounds overall, or 5.61%.
