Daniel, talking on his phone while driving, tries to get in touch with Charlie, the money-stealing brother-in-law. After leaving a pleading voicemail, Daniel blindly gropes in his glove compartment, unearthing a bottle of Vicodin. He is just a car accident waiting to happen. When Daniel sits back up, suddenly Jesus is his co-pilot, and I don't mean that metaphorically. Jesus is sitting next to him in the car. Granted, it's a White Anglo-Saxon Jesus, but I'm just going to explain it away as this being Daniel's idea of what Jesus looks like or something. Anyway, Daniel tries to justify his pill-popping, but Jesus ain't having it. They end up joking about it, so at least Jesus has a sense of humor. They talk about Grace, and Jesus advises Daniel to talk to Grace like she's an adult. Daniel wants some insider info on what's going on with Charlie and the money, but Jesus says that he's not a fortune teller. After some companionable silence, Daniel carefully asks if he's been chosen. Jesus says he hasn't. Daniel wonders why he sees Jesus, then. Jesus explains that he talks to everyone, but that not everyone listens.
