Alma can't even believe this guy, clearly, even as he lamely says that it was before he met Alma. Ruiz explains that the Tates were fighting, and Jill's accident happened while she was coming to see him after an argument. "I'm sorry for what this has done to you," he says. Yes, smart to remember to include that thought. She just tells him to find Gus, and isn't interested in any more discussion. Let's hope we don't have yet to find out about even more people Ruiz screwed that he wasn't supposed to.

At the hospital, Cross is sitting up on her bed as a doctor tells her she's lucky to be alive. In addition to the visible, un-bandaged cuts on her face, there's a long laceration down her side that missed the major organs, and her left arm is in a sling, thanks to a bad fracture of the radius. Thank god her circumference is undamaged. Wade and Kitty show up with some clothes for her, and when Wade asks the doctor about the prognosis, she tells them that Cross will need surgery on the arm. "That's not possible," Cross pants, sliding off the bed.

The doctor starts arguing until Wade dismisses her for a minute. Cross asks about Gus, on whom Wade says they have nothing before adding that Ruiz is moving Alma. He thinks. Cross humbly asks Kitty for help getting dressed. "Sure, babe," says Kitty, who has apparently stopped actively hating Cross now that she's terribly injured. Tugging the curtains an inch closed and turning his back while they dress her, Wade advises Cross to stay, which she refuses to do. "Gus is alive," she insists. Wade asks why she thinks that. "He wants Marco to suffer," Cross says. "He wants to draw it out." That sounds pretty grim. Fortunately, Kitty's there to look on the bright side, which is that the doctor apparently prescribed Cross some Vicodin. "S'good," Kitty says casually. And probably harder to get in this town since David Tate killed Peter Meadows.

There are about a dozen or so people sitting in a circle at the AA meeting, and after sitting through a round of applause from someone who's just shared, it's Frye's turn. With Mendez at his side, he introduces himself with a lame Stripes reference, and thanks another attendee for telling his "deeply depressing story…You actually make me feel really good about myself, so that was awesome." He adds that his last drink was about ninety minutes ago, "and it was delicious." Mendez smacks him on the leg, and he gets serious. In fact, he starts crying again, saying, "I don't know how you guys do what you do. Just seems kind of impossible to me." He says he tried so hard, but he always shits the bed and gets hammered, "And life is so much better when you're hammered." This probably isn't the room for that comment.
