The air marshal takes Johnny to the rear of the plane and asks him to put down his cane. She starts asking him a series of questions about medications and mental illness. Johnny insists that he's a rational person, but that, given what he knows about the future of the flight, it's difficult for him to play by the rules. The air marshal informs Johnny that she's going to pat him down. I think I saw a porno that started out this way.

Meanwhile, the captain and co-pilot are trying to decide if they should change altitudes to avoid the minor turbulence they've been experiencing. The captain decides to stay the course. Nicole gets buzzed into the cockpit. The captain asks if things have calmed down. Nicole explains about the air marshal, and then tells the captain about Johnny's warnings regarding the right engine. The co-pilot thinks they should run an instrument check, but the captain says that everything is fine. Nicole thinks Johnny is legit, but the captain thinks Johnny just wants publicity. The co-pilot says that he heard Johnny actually hates publicity. The pilot points out that for someone who hates publicity, Johnny is awfully famous. Nicole tries to protest some more, but the captain dismisses her.

The air marshal starts patting Johnny down. He asks her why she dropped out of Brown. She thinks it's some sort of party trick. Johnny says he can prove that he's telling the truth. He turns and asks to hold the St. Christopher medal she's wearing around her neck. She refuses. Johnny says that if she doesn't give him the medal, he'll start yelling that the plane is going to crash and cause a panic. The air marshal is pissed, but hands over the medal. Johnny takes it and goes into a vision we don't see. The air marshal asks for her medal back. Johnny starts spouting off facts about the air marshal's sister, the original owner of the medal. Johnny repeats the exact words the air marshal used when she gave the medal to her sister, and then reveals that the sister died of a drug overdose and the air marshal blames herself. And finally we find out that the air marshal's name is Kelly, so I can stop calling her "the air marshal." Kelly slams Johnny into the wall and tells him to shut up. Johnny tells Kelly that all of the plane's passengers will die in thirty minutes, and that they all have brothers and sisters too. Kelly silently slaps some handcuffs on Johnny as she cries. She orders Johnny to sit down, and he does, but he reminds her that they still have a chance to save the passengers.
