Johnny breaks, but none of the balls go in. Natalie proceeds nearly to run the table. Natalie explains that she grew up with three older brothers and a pool table in the garage. Because a woman couldn't just be good at pool. I swear to God, I'm not consciously looking for example of sexist writing, but they jump out at me. I just think the writers could do better. Why not just a pool table in the garage? Why not have Natalie spend a lot of time playing pool in college? Anyway. Natalie finally misses a shot. She asks Johnny what he meant earlier, about the important question. Johnny says that someone asked her to marry him. Natalie wonders how he knows, and Johnny reminds her of his abilities. Natalie says that for some strange reason, she believes him. She asks why they are playing pool. Johnny says there are two reasons: he wanted to get to know her better, and he can't tell her the second reason yet.
Johnny is distracted by Bruce coming into the restaurant, making strange gestures. Behind him are Mugger and Accomplice. Natalie sees Johnny looking at them, and asks if he knows them. Johnny was just going to ask her the same thing. Natalie asks what's going on. Johnny leans in and starts whispering to her, which we don't hear. But we do see Natalie's shocked face. She backs away from Johnny, terrified, and heads for the door. Johnny follows.
Outside, Johnny yells to Natalie to come back. She sees Mugger and Accomplice following them, and freezes. Things seem pretty tense, but then a whole squadron of cop cars pulls up, led by Walt. Mugger and Accomplice are arrested. Natalie slumps against Johnny in relief.
Walt questions Natalie about Mugger and Accomplice, making sure she doesn't know them. She doesn't, and asks why they would want to kill her. Walt says they don't know, and that they can interview her again in the morning, after she's had some sleep. Johnny offers to drive her back to her hotel. They arrive at the hotel. Johnny notices that she's still pretty freaked out, and tells her she's safe now and hugs her. She thanks him for saving her life and then says she's never met anyone like Johnny before. Then she kisses him.
