Back at the party, Sarah takes pictures of Jason dancing. She notices Kate and Johnny walking back in from outside, and calls them over for a picture. Johnny poses with his arms around Kate and Jason, but as the picture is taken, he goes into a vision. It's the end of Jason's operation, just like before, but now everything starts running backwards. Johnny follows the heart out of Jason's chest and back to the original donor. Then he follows the original donor back to the ambulance and back to the car accident in which he or she died. Time stops. Johnny wanders through the frozen accident scene and finds out that the heart donor is...Kate! Johnny snaps out of the vision. Sarah checks out the picture she took, and sees that Johnny wasn't looking at the camera. She wants to retake the shot, but Johnny excuses himself and takes off. Sarah, Kate, and Jason look confused.
Johnny goes to Faith Heritage and explains to Rev. Purdy what he saw. Johnny realizes that if he can prevent the accident, Jason won't get a heart. Rev. Purdy says that Johnny doesn't know that, and agrees, but points out that Jason has a high risk of organ rejection, so it makes "a sick kind of sense" that Jason would get his sister's heart. Purdy says that this isn't a dilemma Johnny should face on his own. Johnny says he doesn't want guidance, and that he's not going to choose which friend lives and which one dies. Purdy doesn't think that's Johnny's choice to make anyway. Johnny can do nothing, and Faith Heritage can cut through the red tape and get Jason to the top of the organ donor list.
At lunch, Sarah shows a picture of J.J. to Kate. I wonder if Kate knows who J.J.'s father is? Sarah asks what Kate wanted to discuss. Kate admits that she has feelings for Johnny, and that she thinks he might feel the same. Kate wanted to clear it with Sarah first before she acted on her feelings for Johnny. Sarah says that she's married, and also that Johnny is his own person. Kate knows that, but she's asking anyway. Sarah sighs and says that she can't imagine anyone better for Johnny than Kate. Just then, Johnny walks in and joins them. Sarah makes an excuse to leave Kate and Johnny alone, and practically flees the restaurant. Johnny asks what Kate and Sarah were talking about. Kate admits that they were talking about Johnny, and says that she's always liked him. Johnny is silent. Kate apologizes for not coming to see him when he got out of the coma, and admits that she was afraid to see him because he had brain damage. Kate was also scared about Johnny's powers -- that they meant Johnny had changed. She realizes now that she should have talked to Johnny herself. They share a tender look. Johnny holds out his hand and Kate takes it. Johnny goes into another vision of Kate's car getting clocked by a truck and flipping over a few times. Everything freezes, and Vision Johnny walks over to the car. He gets a partial license plate from the truck, and then peers into the car at a bloody Kate. He snaps out of it. Kate asks what's wrong. Johnny says he just needs more time to think. Kate says there's no pressure, because they have all the time in the world. Oh, the irony. Johnny tries to pretend he's not freaking out.
