Our Plucky Hero

Vicky buckles, because this isn't the kind of show where people say, "I don't even like my family. Go ahead and kill 'em!" She tells Sean that James Dempsey is a billionaire and one of the most powerful men in the country. And no one knows where he is. She says that she tried to use the Vice President to stop him, but it didn't work. She didn't try that hard, in my opinion. Sean is surprised to learn that Jarvis is part of the conspiracy that tried to kill the president. That reminds me, we never learned how Sean got off that cruise ship, did we? And we also never learned how he found out that Michael was going to try to fly that plane into President Martinez's compound. Anyway, Sean threatens Vicky's family again. This is probably supposed to indicate that he's become a badass or something.

Martinez tells the situation room that the sleepers have the uranium rods, and he takes responsibility. Also, the stakes are high, and they must stop Thomas and Sophia. Sterling says that they're waiting for Sophia to make another call with her phone, at which point their computers will know exactly where she is. See? Sean got that information about Vicky without her even using her phone. Martinez doesn't want to use local law enforcement for this, because he doesn't trust them or something. The general says he's got some Marines in the San Francisco area, but he can't authorize their use due to Posse Comitatus. Martinez says that he's aware of federal law, but "don't question me, just do it." So that takes care of any legal problems with using the US Military to arrest people. That was easy! Jarvis enters and gets a standing ovation. Although Martinez and Sterling look unhappy about him being there. I'm surprised the door was just sitting open like that. It seems like a lot of people know about the aliens at this point.
