She is, because her house is full of agents and cops. Ryan tells Claire Denise's real name, and says they haven't found Joey yet. She takes his hand, which is probably not going to help the FBI trust him. He goes outside and snaps at a couple of cops who aren't being particularly observant. Claire and a cop go upstairs, and the cop checks out her room, although he didn't go into the attached bathroom or the closet or check under the bed. Guy might as well be wearing a red shirt.

Riley is repeating that there were nine handwritings in the house -- the four people we know about (Emma, Paul, Jacob, Raines) and five more unidentified. Parker says the ME has confirmed that the mummy in the wall was Slutty Mom, but they don't know who the masked man was. They're wondering how Raines, who is sloppy and stupid, has disappeared. GUYS HE IS IN CLAIRE'S HOUSE. The cop standing outside her bedroom walks down the hall, and Raines drops from the trapdoor to the attic. He grabs the cop and shoves him into another room.

Claire is brushing her teeth, and looks for her cop. There's a huge mirror over her bathroom sink, and in it we see Raines approach and shut the bathroom door. Claire finally notices, but doesn't start screaming or anything because that would be dumb!

Ryan and the agents are outside in their mobile command center, thoroughly unconcerned with what's going on inside. Parker asks about the floor plans they found on the walls of Emma's house, and Ryan says they're blueprints of Sarah's house, showing the path Jacob and Paul followed when they abducted her through the closet. Well, two of them are of Sarah's house -- Ryan realizes that the second one labeled "basement" is of Claire's house. He runs inside and up the stairs and when he comes into the bedroom, Raines shoots at him.

Raines has Claire in her bedroom with a gun to her head. Ryan sends the others away (like three feet away) and as he shuts the door, Riley shoves a pistol into the back of Ryan's waistband. Raines says he has to kill Claire and Ryan has to watch, those are the rules. Or else Ryan has to kill Raines, and Raines starts crying about how he's not ready to die. Ryan tries to placate him, saying nobody needs to die, but Raines starts yelling about how this is his chapter and he gets to write it any way he likes. Yeah, I'm so sure this dumb-dumb was really looking for a mentor who speaks in metaphors of gothic romance. Ryan suggests they call Carroll, and mentions the phone over by the bed. When Raines's eyes cut over that way, Claire ducks down out of the way and Ryan shoots him in the shoulder. Ryan screams for an ambulance and rushes over to Claire.
