Ryan lists Raines, Stabbyface, Will and Billy, all members of Carroll's cult. And then he clicks to "The Raven" and starts yelling about satellites and the finality of death and getting GPS tracking on the SUV and Turner chooses this moment to be all, ah, so Ryan's crazy! Everybody ignore the crazy man! Except... Sarah's still missing. So maybe he has a point?
Ryan storms off and we can hear his heart pounding, because of course. He flashes back to the night in 2003 when he ran into Annie and Sarah as they were on their way home -- the night they were attacked by Carroll. As he told Mike earlier, he'd started following Carroll everywhere because he suspected he was the murderer, but didn't have any evidence. Ryan lurks outside Sarah and Annie's house, then hears Sarah screaming inside. He breaks a window and rushes in. Sarah is lying on the floor, stabbed and Carroll jumps up behind Ryan. He stabs Ryan, then comes back to cut Sarah's throat. Ryan shoots him. Heartbeats.
Ryan is skulking around Will and Billy's house, looking at the photos of the two, embracing. Mike tells him both of them were listed in the prison visitor log and that they had property Lake Whitehurst. In one photo, Will and Billy are posed in front of a sign that says "The Lighthouse Bed & Breakfast." Ryan pulls out his phone and Googles a lighthouse in Lake Whitehurst.
Ryan goes outside and stealthily steals someone's government SUV. He heads to Lake Whitehurst. The B&B is decrepit and boarded up, and I know I'm not a hotshot FBI agent who's seen it all, but wouldn't it have been a good idea to bring backup? This guy already tried to kill Ryan once and surely Mike would go wherever his idol beckoned. Too stupid to live, this one. Ryan cases the perimeter of the house, and when he hears a noise, reaches for his gun. Which is missing from his hip -- it's not clear until the previews for next week's episode, but Ryan isn't allowed to have a service weapon anymore. He calls out that he came alone.
