Speak of the devil. Lt. Bubba arrives at his office to find a picture of Kimble pinned to the wall with a yellow sticky reading: "Here I am try not to lose me! [sic]" Wow, that's really creative. Not. Lt. Bubba shares my feeling as he takes down the photo without cracking a smile. His captain approaches him and says, "I can get that laminated for you." Lt. Bubba isn't amused. "So Miami?" Captain asks. Lt. Bubba "mmm-hmms" noncommittedly. "I've known you a long time, Philip, and let's just say I happen to believe letting go is not one of your strong suits," Captain states. "You going to order me to step off the Kimble case?" Lt. Bubba asks. "You telling me if I do, you're going to disobey?" Captain retorts. "Yeah!" Lt. Bubba tells him. "Okay," Captain shrugs, "as long as we're clear." What a pushover. Captain Pushover goes into his real reason for cornering Lt. Bubba and tells him he can't let Kimble take over his thoughts twenty-four seven. It's just not healthy. "Naw, that's not happening," Lt. Bubba assures him. "Good," Capt. Pushover says. Lt. Bubba regards the sticky-ed photo thoughtfully, saying, "Yeah, but I'm on this and that's where I'm going to be until this is over." Way to not be obsessive over the Kimble case, Bubba. Capt. Pushover snatches the photo from him and crumples it into a ball. "Five bucks?" Capt. Pushover asks. Lt. Bubba shrugs, "Ten." Capt. Pushover shoots the ball of paper into a corner and hooks a basket through one of those little plastic hoops, which is standard furniture in any office. For a minute I thought they were wagering on whether or not Lt. Bubba could bring Kimble to justice. But I guess that would have made it just a little too interesting. Capt. Pushover quips as he leaves the office, "No checks."
