Back at his own house, Nick is trying to sneak into his bedroom but finds Sarah still awake. She looks like she's been crying. They argue quietly about the Radcliffs and about what the rest of the family went through when Nick shot the suspect. "Nick, you promised. You said this was our second chance!" She implores him to realize he's not just a cop, but a husband and father. He's also a jerk. He says nothing.
The next morning, the Radcliffs are enjoying breakfast at the table. Claire says she's thinking of joining a book club that meets once a month. She puts on a brave face. "I think it would be a good way for me to keep busy." Dylan and Emily are happy.
At the fund-raiser fair, Andie is having a hard time convincing anyone to use her lie detector. Charlie approaches to apologize for freaking her out the day before, but admits how happy he is to know her. Andie cuts him off and says she might have feelings for him. Brett, some distance away, picks up on the conversation with his wolfy hearing. He fumes. Charlie, oblivious, smiles.
Night falls and fireworks light up the sky. The Radcliffs are getting into their car while Nick watches from his own car across the street. He sighs and lets them drive off without following. Later, he meets the fam at the fair and tells Sarah he's closed the Radcliff case.
Claire catches up to Peg at the fair and begs for an herbal remedy to help control her "cravings." Devon, nearby, overhears and notes what a bitch cravings can be. Tell me about it. I could just murder an ice cream sandwich about now. Devon whispers to Claire that one of her neighbors saw Claire putting the contractor's truck in her garage. "Don't worry, I helped her forget," Devon says. "But who knows how long that'll last?" "I could end you," Claire says. Please do. Peg puts a protective arm around her shoulders and leads her away.
