That is so fucked up. It's the same kind of thing that makes me get so weird about the fatuous internet argument about whether or not women raping men is the same thing as men raping women. The absolute privilege of seeing these things as interchangeable, because you don't actually live in the world of social or sexual reality. (Not to mention the screeching nonsense hatemail I get when we talk about this, because nobody pushes back harder than somebody trying to prove that being against something as simple and non-negotiable as rape still somehow makes them heroes.)

The time between 2330 and 2350 that I was walking home, whistling in the dark and texting my friend because I was scared to be alone? That part? Or every minute of my daily life? You've heard of situational awareness, yes? Knowing who's around the corner?
