Previously: Audrina caught Justin kissing another girl, so she broke it off. Heidi was annoyed with Spencer, and then Spencer's annoying sister showed up. Lauren was semi-interested in Brody, but thought he was too much of a ladies' man. What are the kids calling that nowadays? "Playa" is out, "pimp" is way out, and I'm old so I don't know. I'm going to stick with "lothario" or possibly "Casanova." And then I'm going to go ride my velocipede to the general store to buy some hoarhound candy.
Brody and Lauren flirt over lunch. He's all, "Wow, your eyes are blue today," and she's all, "My eyes are always blue," and he's all, "I thought they were green," and I've overheard more exciting conversations in line at the movie theater. During the matinée. For children. Brody just happens to randomly ask about Jen Bunney, and Lauren says Jen might be coming to Lauren's party that night, so Brody can hang out with her. Brody actually blushes at that one, embarrassed about his past indiscretions. But he's still looking for future indiscretions, as he can't stop checking out all the women who walk by, and Lauren starts getting pouty about it. Brody pretends he didn't really mean to be a lech, but you know he totally did.
Teen Vogue. In a super-timely fashion, Lauren and Whitney discuss Halloween, which is apparently the occasion for which Lauren is having the party mentioned to Brody earlier. Whitney's reaction to everything Lauren says next: "Oooooh! Oooooooooooh!" Higher pitched each time. Anyway, Lauren says that Audrina is inviting some guy friends, and is even inviting a GUY, like a date, to be JB's replacement. Let's get to the important part: Is Lo (!) coming? Whitney asks if Lauren and Brody are going to do a couple costume. Lauren says Brody will do a couple costume with Frankie, and she and Whitney throw around dated references like Dumb and Dumber and Night at the Roxbury. Seriously? First it's October, and now it's apparently 1998? Since Lauren didn't jump at the bait earlier, Whitney flat-out asks what's up with her and Brody. Lauren says that Brody is cute and all, but he "likes his ladies." Whitney agrees that Lauren doesn't need to be a face in a crowd, but she does sense chemistry with them. Lauren looks sad.
Heidi and Spencer's apartment. Heidi has invited Stephanie over to have a talk about Spencer. Heidi explains about their fight where Spencer walked out over their wedding plans. Stephanie is shocked. Heidi thinks the wedding planning is tearing them apart. Yeah, that's what it is. The wedding planning. Heidi wonders if maybe they should wait a little while to get married, and asks Stephanie not to mention it to Spencer, so you know Stephanie totally will.
