Next, Janice yells that there will be a closed set because she's going to shoot Nyabel naked. Nyabel explains that where she's from, you're not even supposed to see a woman's legs, much less her naked bits. Her family will not be happy about this. Janice says that Peter has been on her to drop Nyabel, but Janice wanted to give her time to prove that she could lose the weight. Janice has to ask herself how much time she will give Nyabel. I thought Nyabel already lost the weight. As far as Nyabel's photos go, sometimes I get her and sometimes I don't.
Next is Crystal. Janice says that she didn't get it when she first saw Crystal, but lo and behold she lost fifteen pounds and became a model. That's what it takes, folks. Crystal says that this whole experience has been life-changing. She feels like she's transformed, and for the better. We see before and after, and it's true. She really looks totally different. She's also so nice and cute. Yay, Crystal! Next, Janice tells some guy named Maurice to use intelligence and look right in the camera. Have we ever seen him before? He is ringing no bells for me, though I've heard that he speaks of the pompatus of love. To end, Janice shoots Timika, John Stallings, T.J. Bates, Lauren, Ben (who the hell is that?), and Sarah. She confabs with Peter and Kodi, who asks her who looked good to her from behind her lens. Janice says that she's shot so many models, she doesn't know her own ass from a tub of Crisco, though I suspect that's not atypical.
Peter, Janice and Kodi look at the film and get ready to make some big decisions, with Greek Chorus members Gabe and Duke adding their two cents every so often. Janice discovers that Peter has taken out a $10,000 billboard to help launch the agency in a big way. It is, in fact, a massive electronic billboard on Sunset Boulevard. Of course. And La Dickinson has been ready for her close-up, bitches. Janice tells us that there are three categories for models: dropped, new faces, and model management. Dropped is self-explanatory. The new faces are the kids who aren't dropped, but need development, so they won't go to work quite yet. Model management are the models who can go out and work.
The discussion begins. According to Duke, Slovakian Petra doesn't have strong enough looks, and she also has a bad attitude. Janice wants to put her on the new faces board. Kodi doesn't know what Janice sees in Nyabel, and doesn't think that the losing weight will help matters. Janice mentions Alek Wek, and Peter says that they can't try to recreate a one-of-a-kind model. He explains to us that he and Janice have some fundamental differences of opinion and aesthetics, which makes these decisions tough. Janice loves Stina, though Kodi mentions that she is putting on some weight. Janice seems scandalized by this, but Gabe and Duke back Kodi up. Janice says that the only person gaining weight is Peter. Hee. And then, Claudia. Kodi calls her a legal disaster waiting to happen. Gabe asks if she has to put transsexual on her card. Indeed, she does, or they'd be guilty of misrepresentation. I kept waiting for the Very Special Episode where Janice paid for Claudia's gender reassignment surgery, but I guess that was never to be. Janice says that she is not joking with Claude/Claudia, and that Claudia made a gorgeous boy. Oy. Kodi says that Janice has been hoping for some of the models to prove themselves, but really, they either have it or they don't.
