The Fourth Betrayal

The players return to their hotel. Over a meal, Anderson announces that it's time to leave Switzerland, and that they will now be heading to Italy. Everyone cheers. Yay, Italy! A giant red cartoon arrow shows us ignorant North Americans how to get from Switzerland to Venice, Italy. Since they're going to Venice, you know we are going to hear cheesy accordion music and see some gondolas. Heather the Narrator voice-overs that Venice was "sort of storybook," and they were given the opportunity to explore. This is why I would rather be a contestant on this show than any other reality show. What other show would give you the opportunity to explore Venice? None. Bill says that Venice surpassed his expectations, and he would love to bring his wife over for a gondola ride. The players wander around the city. They hang out in some sort of courtyard and let the pigeons crawl all over them. Ew! I don't know if Italian pigeons are different from American pigeons, but I always thought of pigeons as rats with wings. I definitely would not do what Rob does, which is to lie down on the ground and let the pigeons crawl on him. Heather narrates that it was a nice opportunity to relax and enjoy the company of the other players. Everybody laughs at dirty, disease-ridden Rob.

Over a shot of an orange full moon, Anderson voice-overs that, even while relaxing, some players can't let go of the game. On a bus of some sort, Patrick tries to ask Al a question, but Al interrupts and tells Patrick not to waste his breath. Myra giggles nervously. Al says that he's willing to share information like his favorite color, but he's not going to share strategy or thoughts on who the Mole is. Al tells Patrick that if he asks those types of questions, he's going to get "dead air." Which is appropriate, given Patrick's resemblance to WKRP's Les Nessman, as noted on the forums. In an interview, Al says that he and a lot of other players are getting annoyed with Patrick's "incessant questioning," and that they'll think they're having a normal conversation with him, and suddenly, he's extracting information from them about the game.
