Nick escorts Franny to pick up Eva's son, Ricky. I guess the sitter was staying with him for, like, three days? Interesting that another family member didn't pick Ricky up once they found out what was happening. Franny's not interested in small talk with the sitter, and just takes the keys to her apartment and walks off. Nick is left behind to inform the sitter that Eva is dead. He asks whether Ricky can stay with the sitter for another night, and she agrees.
Jeremy and Lizzie are at his apartment. Jeremy is talking on the phone to his parents, who are understandably glad to talk to him. Lizzie sits at the breakfast bar eating, appropriately enough, eggs and bacon. Jeremy tells his parents that Lizzie is staying with him tonight, so obviously they're serious enough with each other that his parents know about her. Jeremy hangs up, and Lizzie says that she doesn't know if she can see his parents tomorrow. Jeremy tells her that's fine and asks what she's doing eating bacon, since she's a vegetarian. Lizzie sharply says that she wanted bacon. Jeremy asks, "Do you want to talk about it?" Lizzie feigns ignorance, and Jeremy says that what "happened in there" was "a moment." He wonders, 'Does it have to mean everything?" Lizzie looks hurt, but doesn't answer.
Egan cleans out his closet while watching footage of himself on the news. His wife walks in and asks what he's doing. Egan says that he's always hated that shirt. His wife bitches at him for throwing away good clothes, but Egan says that he'll donate them to Goodwill. Egan, unlike the other hostages, is way more chipper and happy now than he was before the standoff. Egan says that he wants new clothes, and that he feels good. He urges Mary to buy new shoes, or anything else she wants. Mary responds by avoiding Egan's touch and asking why he would risk his life for strangers: "What are you trying to prove?" Then she stomps out of the room. No wonder he hated his life.
