Warehouse. The detective asks Kathryn whether Nick made any effort to stop the robbers. Kathryn says that Nick did everything he could, and was more persuasive than the cops on the outside were. The detective asks whether Nick tried to persuade Lucas to stop Randall. Kathryn says that the only way to stop Randall was to kill him, and that Lucas wouldn't do that, because they're brothers.

Lucas is being interrogated by the cops. He asks for an update on Eva. The cop wonders why Lucas hasn't asked about his brother. Lucas asks whether Randall is dead, and is told that Randall's chances aren't good, which means that Lucas will take sole responsibility for the crime. Lucas is fine with that. The cop asks whether anyone else was involved in the plan, and Lucas says that he's not saying anything else until he talks to his lawyer, adding that he wants his one phone call and the number for the hospital where Eva is being treated.

Cut to the hospital, where Jeremy watches through a window as Eva is treated.

Egan finally makes his way to a cop car, apparently having been cleared by the paramedics. The media yells out to him by name, and ask how it feels to be a hero. Egan seems to enjoy the attention.

Nick is still talking to the FBI guy, who runs down Nick's history: Nick's dad was a drunk cop who got his partner killed, and Nick's gambling problem caused the department to lose out on a big arrest. Nick wonders what the point is. The FBI guy says that if Nick goes public with his doubts about how the situation was handled, the FBI will bring up Nick's history to cast doubts on his credibility. Nick's response is to walk away.

Warehouse. Lizzie tells the detective that she feels like she should be at the hospital with Franny. He assures her that there are other social workers there, but Lizzie says that she's Franny's friend. The detective points out that Lizzie said previously that she only knew Jeremy. Lizzie gives the speech from the opening about how it was a normal day, but now those strangers are bonded forever. As she speaks, we see Franny waiting for word on Eva in the hospital, and then Lizzie joins her and hugs her. Franny reports that she hasn't heard anything yet. Nick arrives and is told that they don't know anything. And then Jeremy walks out, and the look on his face says that Eva is dead. Franny starts sobbing, and Lizzie goes to hug her, but Franny goes right for Nick's arms. See, Franny is a whore. That's the message I got from that little scene. At least Nick looks sort of ashamed, like he's thinking, "Well, I did want her sister, but she's pretty hot too, but her sister did just die and all... I'm so conflicted!"
