Sandy and Kirsten emerge from some Mexican coffee place (El Starbuckos), drinking something out of paper cups. Apparently, they like having diarrhea for days and days. Kirsten wonders if they're crazy for coming to Mexico. Sandy says probably, since they drove all night to a country where neither of them know the language. That's okay, Sandy -- no one in Mexico appears to know their language either. You have plenty of company. Kirsten wonders how many more times they'll have to "rescue" their sons when they're in trouble. I'm guessing fourteen more episodes, Kirsten.

Seth somehow made it back to the motel room. He dials the front desk and asks them if they saw Ryan come in last night. "I'm in the room without windows," Seth says. This doesn't help, as it seems the motel has multiple rooms without windows. Even so, their front desk workers speak better English than motel desk workers generally do in America. Amazing. Seth asks to place a call to America.

Taylor Townsend chats with the guy who has Seth's phone and makes an espresso from the machine she bought from the espresso machine store that's apparently right on campus. Summer returns from her tree protest and finally notices something besides herself: Taylor's bags are packed. Taylor says she's going back to Newport to face her issues unlike some people. She came to Summer for help, but now realizes that Summer needs more help than she does. Taylor says this in her typical perky upbeat way, which is great. Summer ignores Taylor's truth-telling and babbles on about sleeping outside. "You can't turn off the stars," she says. Oh, sure you can! It's called light pollution. Taylor says that she can't believe Summer would dump Seth for "some guy who read Siddhartha and did a couple of Outward Bound courses." Ha! Taylor knows people better than anyone else on this show. Summer denies that Bright is anything but a friend. "I don't do love triangles anymore," she adds. Thank god. Taylor says Summer is using Bright and her new environmental campaign to hide from Seth. Summer denies this, but Taylor tells her to talk to Seth either by phone or letter. Something. Summer says that here, in America, people hide their feelings. No, Summer, they hide their feelings in England. Close enough, though. Summer doesn't hide her feelings of anger, as she suddenly goes off on Taylor, yelling at her for saying she had some big secret and then spending the whole time telling Summer everything that's wrong with her life instead of revealing it. Taylor just says that Summer should do something before she loses Seth and regrets it. She starts out the door, then turns and says that she got married in France and now has to get divorced. Oh. Okay. Um... I guess we'll see how that turns out. Summer asks Taylor where that espresso machine came from. "It's a gift!" Taylor snaps at her. I hope she bought some shade grown organic fair trade coffee beans to go with it.
