The Firm. Ellenor is taking a book from a wall of books that I've never seen before. Lindsay is there. They are talking about the events of today. Ellenor says, "She'll be fine. Probably a bit richer since the prosecution's witness flipped out on her." Mrs. Rod wants to know why charges were filed in the first place. Blah off her nut, blah Mitchell is a horse's ass blah. Whew. Ellenor, keep your real feelings in check. Of course, Ellenor turns around and sees Mitchell hound-dogging it into the office. Of course, Lucy doesn't announce him or anything. Of course, Ellenor turns around and snaps, "What do you want?" He responds, "Two minutes. Please." Aw, Ellenor -- he's so cute, looking up at you from under all that hair. Man. Scott Cohen needs to understand that the pompadour styles that he's got going on are a bit scary for this, or any, fashion season.
The two of them end up in Bobby's office. Ellenor slams the door and crosses her arms in front of her chest. She does her angry squint: "You've got one minute." Blah reduce the sentence, blah see the breasts, blah obstructed justice, blah hurt Ellenor's feelings blah. Ellenor replies, "We were friends." He shakes his head. His hair doesn't move. "I don't think you realized just how much you hurt me." Mitchell: "You accused me in front of Judge Kittleson. I was blindsided. All I could think to do was accuse you." You can see the comb marks perfectly reflected in the sides of his hair. Exactly how much styling product does that take? Ellenor: "This isn't sounding like an apology, Mitchell." He whines, "Try to understand. It was either embarrass you or get disbarred!" Ellenor: "You made the wrong choice." She walks toward the door. He follows her, saying, "I know. If I could do it all over again, I'd own up to my behaviour." She has her back to him. Ah, blocking. "Ellenor. I'm sorry I hurt you. And I hope that some day you're able to forgive me." Pause. She turns around to face him. Blah if she wants to go to the judge, he'll back her up blah. Ellenor: "Do not make this my responsibility." The Waltz Of The Schmaltz starts. "I don't even know why I'm listening." Pause. "You accused and humiliated me in open court, and then crushed me by suggesting I needed psychological help." She shakes her head. "You are a real bastard." The door swings open and Ellenor pounces back to her desk, leaving Mitchell in Rod's office to pick up his broken ego, shattered in pieces all over the floor. Yawn. There's so much emotional head-shaking in this part of the episode that I'm dizzy.
The music continues as Mitchell slinks past Ellenor's desk on his way out of the office. Of course, Lindsay, Lucy, and the Lump are all standing around, watching. Lindsay walks over. Ellenor says, "I don't want you asking me if I'm okay." Lindsay whispers, "All right." Could they be any more melodramatic?
