The teams take the field. It's flag football, by the way, so there should be no tackling. The announcer tells us that there are two "hot zones" during the game, lasting two minutes each, and any points scored during the "hot zone" count double. David tells his team that if Dan's the quarterback, he's going to rush him every time. Then he gets really intense, as if he's talking to Kira or something, and says, "Don't ever let [your man] get past you! Ev-ah!" I love making fun of David's accent. Piggy gets set up to hike the ball and David tells us he is "psyched to be playing" and to have "Piggy blocking [him]." He doesn't think Piggy could block "an advance from a sleazeball in a baaahh."
Piggy snaps twice, and then just watches David run by and sack Dan twice. Maybe someone could tell her again that she needs to block? Although, I don't know if I would get in David's way because he seems like the kind of guy who would just take you out, no questions asked. David's sacks result in the RW team getting a safety, so it's RW 2, RR 0. Yes tells Dan they should use the same strategy on the RW team. Veronica tells us it's "hard core out there" and everyone wants to "rumble each other." What is this, West Side Story? Are Riff and Tony going to come dancing down the sidelines in a minute carrying zip guns? Veronica tells us she's "going after Amaya."
The RW team has the ball. Mike throws a long pass to Teck, who catches it and falls, and then the ball is loose. Los jumps on it. There is a shot of Veronica and Annoying pushing each other and they try to make it out like it happened after the play was over, but it probably didn't. The refs rule that the ground caused the fumble so the catch is good and the RW team still has the ball. On the next play, Mike gets into trouble and tries to throw a short pass to Heather, but Dan intercepts. Kat goes sliding in the mud to try to stop Dan. Meanwhile, I don't think Annoying has one spot of mud on her uniform. I'm just sayin'.
Before the next play, Veronica taunts Annoying by acting like a bird. I'm not sure how that's taunting, but it was. Trust me. Veronica gets the ball and Annoying just clocks her, taking her down by grabbing onto her neck. Veronica rolls over to retaliate, but then backs off. Also, a bunch of people pulled her off. Kat gives Annoying a big hug. Annoying costs her team a five-yard penalty. Can I just say that it was FLAG football? In my gym class, if you tackled someone in flag football, you got kicked out of the game. Maybe Annoying was counting on that happening so that she could get her hit in and then Veronica couldn't retaliate. Teck recounts the tackle for us, and then says, "It's war out here! It's not recess. It's war." Annoying gets a kiss from her coach.
