The two teams arrive at a race track of some sort. They see a bunch of racing Toyota Celicas lined up, and Kameelah (as usual) gets all excited about it. I didn't know they made racing Toyota Celicas, but after watching J-Dawg play Gran Turismo and racing a Honda Civic, I think anything is possible. Plus, Toyota is obviously a sponsor. I don't think Porsche or Mercedes is going to donate cars to this show. In an interview, Kameelah praises the sponsors like she should. Kameelah hops into the car and says that she needs to learn how to drive a stick. That's a skill everyone should have. You never know when you're going to need it. Jamie does a dorky celebration dance. In an interview, Julie tells us that The Real World has never won a Challenge (like the show has some long and storied history), so they want to win. It sounds really scripted as Julie says, "We're so close -- I can almost taste it."
The Mission Mayor pulls up and does a skid. The kids all cheer him as he gets out of the car. In an interview, Julie works in as many product placements as possible in explaining that "the Toyota Motor Sports mission is for the last $10,000 Monster.com paycheck." The Mission Mayor introduces himself as Danny McCabe. In an interview, Emily says that they are "out for blood." Is it wrong that I just don't believe what the RR team says anymore? They say the same things before every mission, and yet they always lose. Danny explains that they will be doing two missions. In the first, a team member drives two laps, then comes in for a pit stop. In the pit, the other team members will change the tires, and another driver will get in and drive two more laps. I would definitely want to be the first driver. What if they don't tighten the tires enough and the car explodes or something? In the second event, a driver has to do a 360-degree spin and then pull into "the garage," which is really some cones set up in a U-shape.
In an interview, Kameelah says that she's going to do the skid pad, because she has trouble even getting out of first. I guess they all have to drive at some point, because otherwise that doesn't make any sense. I think she's saying that she would rather do the skid than drive the laps. In an interview, Syrus tells us that the top two drivers on his team are Jamie and Julie, but then says that Julie wanted Syrus to drive. I don't know. Does anyone remember Julie's terrible driving from her season? If you've seen the Real World You Never Saw video, you know what I'm talking about. She scares me.
