All Due Respect

Tony walks into the Bing. Silvio, Bobby, and Patsy stare at him. They all keep standing around like they're waiting for something. Silvio gets some money out of the safe and tells Tony that they got him some bialys and coffee. Tony digs in, and then Silvio says that Johnny Sack called a few times, and seemed to be upset. Silvio pulls a gun out of the safe. Tony says that it's a good bialy, and Bobby meaningfully says, "Any time, boss." Silvio puts the gun and some cash back in the safe. He walks over to Tony and puts a hand on his shoulder, and says that he'll see him later. Bobby and Patsy follow Silvio out, leaving Tony alone. On first viewing, I totally thought those three were plotting something, because why show Silvio with a gun? But on second (and third, and fourth) viewing, I think the guys knew that Tony took care of the situation, since Johnny Sack is so mad, and were trying to show their support.

Tony is reading the newspaper when the phone rings. He answers the phone, "What?" Heh. Johnny Sack, sitting in a paper gown at the doctor's office, says that it didn't solve a thing. Tony says that it's over, and Johnny yells that Phil is beside himself. Tony wants to put it behind them, but Johnny doesn't think it'll happen. Tony says he's consider giving Phil some points in "the Bloomfield operation," which I think is the casino Diet Tony was running. Johnny says he's getting his annual physical, and asks Tony to come into the city for a sit-down that night. Tony says that he's smart enough to avoid that meeting, while mentioning that his I.Q. is 136. Johnny considers, and then tells Tony to come to his house early the next morning, because he has to catch a flight to Miami to "get things in line down there." Tony isn't sure, but Johnny asks if he's really going to try anything with Ginny upstairs. Tony says he'll call if he can't make it. Johnny wants Tony to come alone, and promises that Phil won't be there. Boy, those hospital gowns are short. I know way more about Johnny Sack's thighs than anyone but Ginny should really know. ["I think I may have seen both his Johnny and his Sack." -- Wing Chun]

Tony knocks on the door of Christopher's motel room, and Christopher lets him in. Tony looks around the room, and then tells Christopher to "go up to the farm and pick up [his] cousin." Christopher looks unsure. Tony says that Christopher needs to go this morning, and that the whole thing with New York may be over, but that Christopher should still be careful. Tony adds that Diet Tony should be buried off the premises. Christopher says roughly that he'll take care of it. Tony says that they never talked in detail about Adriana. They sit down. Tony asks if Adriana heard or saw anything that she might have given to the Feds. Christopher says he took her on collections a few times, and that she was always nosing around about the cigarettes. Tony asks if Christopher ever said anything about Ralph or the Bevilacqua kid. Christopher immediately says no, and Tony asks if he would remember. Christopher swears he would. Tony considers this, and then looks around the room some more, even going into the bathroom. Christopher says that Tony won't find any drugs or alcohol, because Christopher has been spending his time reading and lifting weights. The camera focuses on some dumbbells on the floor. Weird that they showed up twice in this episode. Christopher says he'll prove himself to Tony, and that he only took drugs on the day Adriana died. Christopher sniffs that Adriana was willing to rat him out to avoid doing five years. Tony says that she's a cunt, and that it's no good to think about it. Tony gives Christopher the typical guy hug, and then notices that Christopher is crying, and they go into a full-on bear hug.
