Carmela walks out to the waiting room, where Paulie and Vito are waiting. They ask about Tony, and Carm says that he just passed his first neurological test, but that he's not out of the woods yet. Paulie compliments Carmela's strength in helping Tony pull through. He hands Carmela an envelope full of cash, and she expresses gratitude. Paulie says it's what they do. Vito says he'd want the same for his wife, and Paulie says he'd want the same for his mother. Carmela walks away, all full of good feelings, and turns to watch Paulie and Vito get on the elevator. Except that they've totally dropped the act now that they think she's not looking, and just look pissed off and annoyed that they had to give her the money. Carmela takes this in with a look of dawning realization.
Christopher is in Tony's room, where Tony is sitting up in a chair, still looking pretty out of it. Christopher tries to make small talk, which is tough when Tony can't respond. Tony notices a card pinned to the board that reads, "Sometimes I go about in pity for myself, and all the while a great wind carries me across the sky." Isn't that kind of a longer way of saying, "Oh, poor you." Did Livia's ghost pin that up? And is one of her hands a cleaver? That would actually be a pretty good horror movie. Livia was fucking terrifying. Christopher finds this to be an appropriate time to talk to Tony about his movie-business deals, even though he knows that Tony didn't approve of the movie stuff in the past. Christopher is all fired up about his ideas, and says that he's holding a large ownership position open for Tony, and hopes he approves. Then I think Christopher realizes that this is one time Tony can't punch him or yell at him, so he says, "Actually, frankly, all due respect, I think you owe me this, as I came to you about Adriana." Carmela returns, interrupting the conversation. Christopher hugs her and leaves.
Carmela drops the package from Paulie and Vito on a table and comments, "I don't know how you do it." She walks over and kisses Tony on the cheek, and then uses a swab to put Vaseline or something on his incredibly chapped lips. Tony just stares up at her, helpless.
