Don't Quit Your Day Job

I fail to understand the judges' hesitation to push their buttons. Christina hovered over hers, then buried her face in her fan at the end. I just don't get it. They all compliment her, but Christina tells her they're looking for "specific sounds" to round out their teams now. I guess they just want to go with mediocre singers and not good ones? This show is so stupid sometimes, I hope Yolanda runs into that soundstage with her school vehicle.

The last performer of the night is Cassadee Pope. She was the front girl for a band called "Hey Monday," who a margin of people may have heard of. Cassadee is ready for more people to hear of her -- people who are not Pete Wentz. Carson made her watch a brief video message from Pete Wentz, and it was odd for everyone.

In front of the coaches, Cassadee sings her version of "Torn" by Natalie Imbruglia. Adam, Christina, and Blake push their buttons for Cassadee almost immediately. Cee Lo wisely holds back. I thought her vibrato was too fast, and she had pitchy moments in her lower register. But what do I know? Cee Lo pushes his button, too, and Cassadee breaks into tears at the end of her performance. Finally, no more touring with the likes of Pete Wentz.

Christina tells Cassadee that she can "kind of do it all," and Adam says he really believes he knows what to do with Cassadee. Yeah, I bet he does. WINK. They all believe that she's a superstar, and compliment her un-faltering abilities (really?). Blake believes 200 percent that she is a superstar. Cassadee goes with her gut, and chooses Blake who gave her the greatest compliment and the least proper fraction. Did Cee Lo even say anything? I feel like maybe he didn't.

Next week, Carson tells us things will get even more desperate, even though the stakes are still incredibly low. Do we have to meet more people? Can't some of the good people who auditioned and didn't get button pushes come back? I just don't think there's room in my heart for more people. The team of my heart is full. OK, maybe there's two spots left.
