Next up is a cowboy-hatted Curtis Grimes playing one of Blake Shelton's own songs. He accompanies himself on guitar and sings his heart out, but Blake just can't bring himself to buzz, because he's funny like that. Luckily, Cee Lo has no such issues. The guy gets the crowd going, and Cee Lo hits his buzzer. Blake tells the guy that he has a great country voice, but when he recorded that song he was cocky, and the guy wasn't cocky enough. Clearly that's not something that could be learned from, say, a good coach. Luckily, Cee Lo is there to pick this guy up, dust him off, and help him write the country song of his dreams. What is it with Blake Shelton though? Can he really not hear past anyone performing a cover of his or his fiancee's songs to understand whether or not they are a good singer? There are five spots left, and only one performer left. And then the world ends. The Mayans predicted it.

The final contestant is actually two contestants. AGAIN. I guess they are just trying to differentiate themselves from The Show That Will Not Be Named, but not tread into the dreaded "America's Got Talent" territory. Tori and Taylor Thomsen are 17- and 19-year-old singers from California who are self-professed pig farmers. They get up and sing a song called "Stuck Like Glue" and it is adorable? In like a Kids Incorporated way. Cee Lo eventually buzzes in. The judges spin and stare at the girls quizzically. Adam calls them adorable, because they are, but when Christina says they sound like a bubblegum commercial, it has the ring of truth. Cee Lo tells his new prizes that he wants to work with them to come up with something new, different and original and as far from a Doublemint commercial as possible. After they hug their new Big Daddy mentor, Carson Daly appears in corporeal form to talk to the judges. You see, they are all supposed to have eight singers on their teams, but only Cee Lo has played by the rules. The rest of the rebel judges have failed. Adam needs two more singers while Christina and Blake need one. The only way to prevent the End of Days is for them to call back some of the rejects and get them to sing again and the judges can sift among the sloppy seconds and look for something worth picking up out of the muck, dusting off, and taking home to mom. The judges pick eight contestants to give a re-listen. They will perform in a random order and the judges will once again do blind auditions. Not to make this show any more complicated or anything.
