Eight Is More Than Enough

Team Blake took his team to a country music station, where he is trying to convince them that the radio is still really the most important way to boost listeners. It's an interesting dated concept he's got going on there. He does a call-in show, where he says he's going to put together an acoustic concert for his team, which happens later this week. Will only the four remaining members get to do the show?

Back in the studio, Carson has Blake's team on stage, and Blake reiterates that everyone was awesome (they weren't... Charlotte, I'm looking at you) and wishes all of them could go through. The first saved person is Erin Willett. She looks about as shocked as I am. Next is Jermaine, who looks quite relieved. Never underestimate the power of Alicia Keys fans. The third safe person is RaeLynn. So I guess Jordis getting votes by people purchasing her songs on iTunes counted for not all that much. RaeLynn squeaks as she runs off stage. Jordis, Naia and Charlotte each get to sing a song of their own choosing, and then Blake gets to keep one and send the others off to the slaughter.

Christina takes her team to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, big upgrade from a radio station. Even if you aren't a Leno fan. Jay advises them to live within their means and not go crazy until they have really made it. Maybe he does financial planning on the side? They all get to sing on the show instead of just saying their names on a local radio show. Blake, step it up in the career mentorship department.

On stage, Team Christina has gathered and she likes the team solidarity and is very proud of the collective. Even though the team is getting smaller tonight. Who gets saved? Jesse, obviously. No brainer there. Lindsey. Again, not a shock. Christina looks like she's going to puke. The last person saved is Chris Mann. Honestly, the other three could be axed, and I'd be totally fine with that, but they get their chance to sing for their lives.
