More Christina Milian, and somehow they let her talk to Adam. A real judge and not just the contestants. That's strange. Who allowed that to happen? Can't imagine Christina agreeing to that, and you know Cee Lo would only go backstage if there were snacks. Adam says it is awkward in the back padded room, where people are just sitting on their cell phones and pretending that there isn't a live TV show happening. That's the understatement of the day, Adam. She sends him away to his real seat, and then talks to Katrina to fill some time while Adam gets away from the padded room.
Adam has made it back just in time to hear Tony Vincent singing "Sweet Dreams." It's loud and creepy and theatrical and very much like the Marilyn Manson version. I love every second of it. Cee Lo looks on impassively. You can tell he'd rather keep a hot chick.
Next up is Cheesa doing "All By Myself." She does better on this song than she did on the up tempo tune she did last night. She still looks barely awake though. I feel no connection with her, as she keeps her eyes closed so much and stares at the floor when she's not half-asleep. She needs a lesson on working the cameras, but she's got a pretty good belt towards the end. Also, she's dressed in a toga for no real reason. Cee Lo looks impressed by her big power note.
Erin Martin is up doing "Your Song." Since Rachel filled in for recapping last night, I forgot how much I hated Erin. I might have skimmed her performance when watching it. She's dressed like bumblebee Pillow Pet. Even skinny girls shouldn't wear padded garments. It's a bad idea, and a totally forgettable vocal to go along with it.
Adam says that he's pissed off that these people didn't sing like this before, because they all did an amazing job but waited until they were on the verge of being cut. After his rant, he goes with Cheesa. Blake agrees, and loves both Tony and Erin, but thought Cheesa knocked it out of the park. Christina shares the love with someone in the audience before really speaking about what's happening. She's also got the stupidest sweater on, which I just noticed. She loved Tony, but can barely remember his name. She blathers about Cheesa hitting one note, before Carson tells her to STFU, and chooses Cheesa. Cee Lo loves all of them, his mind says Tony but his heart says Cheesa. And my beloved Tony goes home.
Well, I guess this means I'll be seeing more of him on Broadway? I'm actually sadder about this than I have been about any reality singing elimination like ever. Not that I thought he'd win, but I thought he'd make it a lot further. That said, I'm glad that Erin is gone. Just like Mrs. Garrett taught me, you take the good, you take the bad. And it really is just a TV show after all. I'm not going to go into mourning or anything. Well, maybe a little, but just until next week when I get to hear weird little Lindsey Pavao sing again (at least I hope... I genuinely have no idea how the Top 16 thing is going to work out).
