Lindsey Pavao (Team Christina), my second favorite girl this season, is up, and says she's known for doing her own spin on songs. She's doing that awesome Gotye "Somebody That I Used To Know" song that once you hear you cannot get out of your head. She's on stage with some women dressed as masked dolls, it kind of works in a weird wonderful way. My only complaint is that she spends most of the time staring into her hair or at the floor instead of connecting with the audience. I don't think I'd care if I were there live, but on camera it is bothersome.
Adam was freaked out by the clowns that came in during the middle (understandable), and he liked it, but wanted more power. Lindsey shrugs it off, and Christina appreciates that her little minion is dissing Adam. See, Xtina is hella competitive. Christina really had nothing to do with this song, as Lindsay sent her this song and arranged it on her own, but she obviously takes credit for Lindsey's existence.
Jordis Unga (Team Blake) is doing "Alone" by Heart, and seems nervous in the rehearsal room. Perhaps it is the ginormous terrycloth coat that she obviously swiped from Cee Lo's wardrobe stash. On stage she looks much more tame, and starts out fairly quietly sitting on the end of the stage. She gets into it at the chorus, but I miss the grit of Ann and Nancy's voices. Just holding out loud notes for a long time isn't the same as having real passion. Christina is making a face. Cee Lo first admires the staging, and then comments on her big notes. That's not the same as saying it is good. Blake says that it wasn't safe (even though she didn't switch it up) and says she really performed it well.
Sera Hill (Team Christina) is up, and I honestly forget that she exists on a regular basis. I had to go back and watch her stuff again when I did predictions. She's doing Drake's "Find Your Love." I really like that song, but on the plus side, if she screws it up, I'll likely forget it ever happened. She's trying to channel Mary J, but she sounds shaky. There are a lot of male dancers without their shirts on. Christina needs to tone down the choreography on her performances, because all I'm paying attention to is the gyrating boys on stage. This is not a Kylie Minogue show; it's a competition where you are supposed to look at the singer. Unless her plan is to distract from Sera's mediocre voice. In which case, maybe she was on the right track.
Blake was waiting for Christina to start stuffing dollar-dollar bills into the dancers pants. He says it was hard to get past the male strippers on the stage to pay attention to Sera. Blake Shelton. Voice of reason. Christina thinks she looked amazing and worked well with the production of it all. Still not much talk about Sera's actual VOICE. Can we remember the name of this show?
