Now, Adam and Team Adam sing "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" by Queen. Oh man, my aging ovaries are really liking Adam singing some Queen lead vocals. A distracted Bryan Keith is infinitely less cool and successful. It's clear this was rehearsed all of one time, with all the artists meandering around stage and missing their harmonies, choosing an octave to sing in at random. So of course, it is my favorite thing so far. You don't see Adam trying to get his team to sing Maroon 5's newest single. It's too expensive.
"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" experiences the sweet release of death and we're back to the results. Before we heard that performance, America saved Melanie Martinez from Team Adam.
Now, the song we "chose" using our "power" on Twitter. "Thanks," Starbucks. Evidently we wanted to hear "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" from Teams Christina and Blake fifteen minutes ago. I didn't ask for this. It's clear that Dez and Cassadee -- who are safe -- are much more comfortable than Terry and Sylvia. Dez is bordering on annoying, but so is this whole show so I guess it's appropriate.
Adam talks about the importance of listening for two or three minutes, and then it's time for more results. One more artist is safe and that artist is Terry McDermott of Team Blake. Team Blake saves itself yet again, leaving Sylvia Yacoub, Trevin Hunte, Bryan Keith and Amanda Brown. I think Bryan Keith is gone for sure this week.
Oh, are these four nervous. Bryan Keith has tears in his eyes, as well he should. Sylvia looks incredibly worried. The next contestant safe is Trevin Hunte, because we love Team Cee Lo. Carson asks Sylvia for her thoughts and she is flustered. Bryan says thank you and "keep rockin'" to no one in particular. Amanda Brown is composed and should definitely move on.
"America has also saved... here we go," Carson says, stretching things out just for the sake of controlling the room. The final person in the Top 8 is from Team Adam, so not Sylvia Yacoub. Amanda Brown is safe and Bryan Keith and Sylvia Yacoub are hugged off stage as the credits roll. Dez Duron is Team Christina's only hope and none of the coaches got to say anything about the eliminated contestants because Carson took too long delivering the results. His timing is terrible.
I don't have any feelings about Bryan Keith, but it is a shame about Sylvia Yacoub. She went first in the performances and chose a song that's less than thrilling. The girl's got pipes though, and has improved over the course of the show. She also seemed pretty cool, but the world wants its Cassadee Popes and its hashtags and its Gon-gom Styles.
